Steve Fleming has recently joined the team as an accounts manager and he will also support me with business development. Steve qualified in 2002 with a top 20 national firm, before heading to London to manage the audit and accounts department for a 7 partner firm.
He's been working with owner managed and family-owned businesses on all aspects of their finances, from payroll, VAT and bookkeeping to accounts, corporate and personal taxes so he's a great fit for us.
He brings with him an all-around wealth of knowledge which enables him to assist, advise and work closely with clients to maximise their goals and potential and is already proving to be a great asset!

We will be bringing new cash flow modelling tools to our armoury. This will help with my financial director role. Both our relationship with Xero and Xledger is proving invaluable too.
Xledger is aimed at companies with a turnover of, say, £1m plus and really enables you to drill down and understand what each product is making in terms of business. With links to banks and with optical reading of invoices, it cuts down laborious tasks quite dramatically freeing the finance function’s time up to do other reporting and analyses functions.

Unfortunately, due to Apple licensing changes, we are unable to continue to offer the Essendon App. However, the good news is that further developments to our website will mean that a lot of the benefits of the app will be available for you elsewhere.
GDPR is also very much at the forefront of a lot of business conversations at the moment and I’d like to take this opportunity to reassure you that at Essendon, we’re taking relevant action and now have the ability to encrypt emails to protect clients data when being sent out by email. This is all part of our aim to obtain the Cyber Essentials certification.
