Every year at Essendon Accounts, we like to do a team exercise that gives us all a few hours out of the office working together on a common project. This year we chose to do a mural and asked Sarah Hodgkins to inspire us ...
Sarah is a fantastic mural artist and has built her business, Charlotte Designs, on superb projects for homes, at schools and in offices around the country. And the best thing is that she came to our office the other day to help us create a mural for our meeting room.
"We were originally going to do the whole wall!"
However, after talking to Sarah and realising it was going to take days and days to do, we settled on separate canvas panels that could be matched side by side and put on the wall when they dried.
So on Thursday 21st December, we were all wearing our Christmas T-shirts, we finished our client work for the day and headed down to our meeting room to be greeted by a smiling Sarah and a whole load of paint and brushes.
"And the results speak for themselves!"
I was pleased that Steffi Lewis was there to film the whole thing so we have a permanent record of our artistic efforts. She was popping in and out of the room, filming the different stages of our work and then spent the evening putting together the video you see above.
So next time to visit Essendon Accounts, we'll have a cup of tea and a chat in our meeting room and you'll get to see the brilliant mural we created hanging on the wall.
I'm so proud of my entire team and would like to thank them for their hard work and effort this year. And a special mention to both Sarah for being so inspirational and to Steffi who recorded the afternoon for posterity.
