This week, I've got a guest blog post from Terry Kendhammer of Bubble Creative. He and his team look after our main website and social media channels and I thought it would be a great idea for him to explain why brand visibility is more important than ever. Take it away Terry ...
However, there is one thing that's become rapidly clear since the wheels have started to turn again ... digital technology has leapt forward by 'several years' and that alone is meaning change for everyone, with the good news that it's also offering opportunity. Homeworking is now the new normal.
Almost overnight, people went from working in offices to working from home. Since then, Zoom and Teams meetings have ruled. Cloud file sharing has saved the day and online remote operating has forced ISPs to up their game; which has been a good thing all round.
What's really risen in dominance, though, is the need for digital exposure for businesses. Suddenly, brochures and business cards have started to gather dust. Face to face meetings aren't taking place, so printed collateral isn't swapping hands. Coffee tables in reception areas are no longer offering temporary distraction and snail mail addresses have become redundant because decision makers have been working from home ... mailing databases don't have those private addresses to send material to.
And with this change of location, people have come to depend on updates and news via their social media accounts. B2B has never been livelier on LinkedIn as it is now, and let's not overlook how Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook are pivitol too. Everything is immediate, it's current, and it's 24/7. So, if your social media channels aren't linking into your website and drawing people into your central hub, you're not only missing a trick ... you're missing out.
How has your own business evolved? Odds on, therefore, your business has had to shift in its focus, offering, and MO. However, with old methods of communication not cutting it any more, you need to ensure your brand is being seen in the right places ... possibly new places.
So, it's worth asking yourself a few questions:
- Are your customers aware of the changes you've made to your offering?
If you've answered 'no' to any one of those questions, we reckon you need to think fast and review your marketing urgently. Digital platforms aren't a costly avenue at all, but good content is key. You need to be maximising on the potential your social media opportunities present and reinforce your brand messages.
It is tough out there and this isn't a time to bury your head in the sand. But if that all sounds very daunting ... take heart as we can help you. We've been through this ourselves and come out the other side. So, please do give us a call if you think we can help.
